Tumours of the small intestine are a relatively unusual group of benign and malignant tumours of both epithelial and supporting tissue origin. Their pathology, associated syndromes, clinical features, diagnosis, and management are discussed.

Diagnosis and surgical treatment of a leiomyoma of the small bowel are described. The special findings in this case are the unusual location of this tumors and the fact that histological examination revealed a benign process, although the tumor had a diameter of more than 16 cm.
