PURPOSE: We assessed decisional regret (DR) among people with spina bifida (SB) regarding decisions caregivers made to manage their neurogenic bladder and bowel as children.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Consecutive adults with SB were surveyed at clinic appointments. For history of childhood bladder reconstruction, we analyzed whether demographics, procedural type, complications, revisions, and functional outcomes affected DR. For history of childhood Malone antegrade continence enema (MACE) channel creation, we additionally analyzed whether bowel management habits or symptoms affected DR.

BACKGROUND: Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) are the main pathogenic substances in Gram-negative bacteria. The aim of this study was to investigate the preventive effects of dietary curcumin (CUR) on LPS toxicity in the duck ileum. PURPOSE: The Malone appendicostomy, for antegrade enemas, has improved the quality of life for many children with fecal incontinence. In patients whose appendix has been removed, a neo-appendix can be created. We compared local immunometabolic effects of two dosage forms of longidase in patients with prostatic adenoma (PA) in combination with chronic prostatitis (CP) in the postoperative period. Transurethral resection (TUR) of the prostate was conducted in 81 patients aged 50-70 years suffering from PA and CP. The indices of the endocrine system, systemic transport and consumption of oxygen, metabolism, hemostasis in the femoral artery, central and internal jugular veins were investigated in 144 patients with severe combined cerebro-cranial traumas (CCT) during the first 7 days after trauma. The present investigation was undertaken in order to establish an optimal tissue pretreatment and an optimal incubation medium for the histochemical demonstration of succinate dehydrogenase (E.C. 1.3.99.1). The investigations were performed on steroid producing (testicle, adrenal gland) and steroid dependent (Fallopian tube) tissues.
