Ependymal surface of the III-rd cerebral ventricle of 13 goat-males and females and in the testicular hermaphrodite was studied by means of scanning electron microscope. The ependymal surface structure of infundibular recess is in relation to the sex, in case of females to the ovarian cycle phase and in males to the season. The purpose of this study is to report on the histopathological findings, especially fatty changes, that are seen in surgical specimens from the temporomandibular joints (TMJ) of patients that had persistent pain after non-surgical therapy. The third cerebral ventricle ependymal lining including eminentia medians was studied by means of SEM in 20 sheep, 13 goats and one goat hermaphrodite. Supraependymal cells in addition to the usual supraependymal structures were observed. In sheep, they occurred in the infundibular low part only in females during oestrus. A case of papillary adenocarcinoma, developed on the urinary bladder neck is reported. This tumor is histologically identical to so called endometrial carcinoma of the prostate. Immunohistochemistry showed acid phosphatases and prostatic specific antigen (PSA) positive cells. Electron microscopy disclosed secretory vacuoles consistent with a prostatic origin. The histogenesis of endometrial carcinoma is briefly discussed likewise the precise site of origin of the reported case.

Thickening of capillary walls is a feature of many glomerular diseases. Widening of the wall may be produced by deposits and other changes affecting either subepithelial and subendothelial regions or the glomerular basement membrane itself. Intestinal mucosal surface in 5 children suffered with Coeliac Disease was observed at Scanning Electron Microscopy. The comparison between two techniques of dehydration demonstrated that the Alcool-Amile Acetate dehydration reduces the technical errors to the minimum. Therefore, a better visualization allows us to recognize the surface coat, the microvillous and some mucosal functional aspects (scale off), which were previously undistinguished. There are no differences between the mucosal aspects in adult coeliac disease and childhood coelia disease.

Thirteen patients (9 women, 4 men) with solitary (7) or multiple (6) radiolucent gallstones were treated with 1.0 g/day CDCA over a period of 7--17 months (mean 10.2).
