BACKGROUND: Microwave ablation (MWA) has been developed as one of the most commonly used local oncologic treatments. However, there is still a dearth of studies concerning MWA in the treatment of renal angiomyolipomas (AML).
PURPOSE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of ultrasound (US)-guided percutaneous MWA when treating AML.

BACKGROUND: Treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the setting of cirrhosis is limited by tumor size/location and underlying liver disease. Radiofrequency ablation is utilized in selected patients; however, local recurrence remains a concern. Microwave ablation (MWA) delivers energy to tissue in a unique fashion, reducing local recurrence. A minimally invasive operative approach allows for mobilization/protection of adjacent structures, intra-operative ultrasound, and assessment of ablation progress.

The nitrogen distributions and evolution of nitrogen functionalities in the char, tar, and gas fractions were conducted. PURPOSE: Clean intermittent catheterization is used to treat neurogenic bladders and it can be adequate to maintain sterile urine. Typically polyvinylchloride, individually packaged catheters are used but they are not intended for repeat use by the manufacturer. Well-defined flower-like CdS nanostructures have been synthesized by applying ultrasound and microwave simultaneously, which consist of hexagonal nanopyramids and/or nanoplates depending on different sulfur sources.
