A 78-year-old woman presented at the emergency room with abdominal pain and diarrhea. At physical examination an abdominal tumour was palpated. The CT-scan showed an invagination of the colon, whereupon an explorative laparatomy was performed. A right-hemicolectomy was conducted and pathology showed an invasive mucineus cystadenocarcinoma in the caecum.

A 25-year-old woman was in the hospital to give birth to her first child. During labour, she suddenly experienced dyspnoea and facial swelling. Palpation revealed crepitus around the face, neck and chest. A chest radiograph showed a continuous diaphragm sign with subcutaneous emphysema, consistent with a spontaneous pneumomediastinum (Hamman's syndrome).

Synchronous benign and malignant tumours in the ipsilateral parotid gland are rare. We present a case of pleomorphic adenoma and oncocytic carcinoma in the same parotid gland. Clinicians should be aware of the possibility of such synchronous multiple tumours, and that careful dissection and palpation during operation are important to diagnose them.

A case of lymphogranulomatosis involving the left broad ligament in a 68-year-old patient is reported. The lymphogranuloma with the extent of two fists presented like an immobile ovarian tumour on palpation. An abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and lymphnode resection was performed. No complications occurred during the postoperative course. Haematologic treatment was subsequently initiated.

Even if one can find in the literature many contra indications to nerve blocks, this case with a pseudarthrosis of the humerus and severe scars in the axilla shows that non-inflammatory pathologic-anatomical changes need not prevent a brachial plexus block. INTRODUCTION: Tracheal intubation is the optimal method for opening up airways. Performed correctly, it prevents stomach contents from entering the respiratory tract and allows asynchronous cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to be conducted during sudden cardiac arrest. An important element of correct intubation is proper inflation of the endotracheal tube cuff.
