Digital insomnia therapeutic as a workplace performance solution for improving productivity.

OBJECTIVES: Insomnia is highly prevalent in the workforce and impairs productivity. Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is the gold-standard treatment but has limited scalability. Digital CBT-I (dCBT-I) offers scalable alternative, yet its effects on workplace productivity are not well established. This study investigated whether dCBT-I produces significant and occupationally meaningful improvements in productivity. METHODS: This study is a secondary analysis of a RCT (clinicaltrials.gov: NCT02988375) with 444 employed adults with DSM-5 insomnia disorder and no other sleep disor

Prevalence and inequalities of missed opportunities for intermittent preventive therapy (IPTp) of malaria among pregnant women: an analysis of 2018 Nigeria DHS.

BACKGROUND: Malaria in pregnancy and its devastating consequences can be prevented with the use of adequate doses of intermittent preventive treatment with sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine (IPTp-SP). Missed opportunities for IPTp-SP are defined as pregnant women who attended four or more antenatal care (ANC) visits but did not receive the recommended three or more IPTp-SP doses during ANC. Missed opportunities for IPTp-SP remain high, despite modest antenatal care (ANC) coverage in Nigeria. However, there is a paucity of evidence on the level of inequalities of missed opportunities for IPTp-SP use am

Socioeconomic factors in relation to dental caries among children aged 5-14 years: a cross-national comparative study using secondary data analyses.

BACKGROUND: Dental caries is a preventable non-communicable disease. Untreated caries in deciduous teeth may contribute to the development of caries in permanent teeth. Nevertheless, limited research has focused specifically on the risk factors in children. The current study examined the association between dental caries and socioeconomic risk factors among children aged 5-14 years across countries worldwide. METHODS: An ecological survey was conducted using nation-based, publicly available online databases from six reputable organizations: the World Health Organization, the Food and Agricult

Peptides of human thyroglobulin reactive with sera of patients with autoimmune thyroid disease.

Autoantibodies to thyroglobulin (Tg) are a prominent feature of the two autoimmune thyroid diseases, chronic lymphocytic (Hashimoto's) thyroiditis and Graves' disease. Similar autoantibodies are found in the serum of many normal individuals without evidence of thyroid disease. Previous studies have indicated that patients with autoimmune thyroid disease recognize epitopes of Tg which are not usually recognized by normal individuals. The goal of this investigation was to identify peptide fragments of Tg bearing these disease-associated epitopes. For this purpose, we utilized a panel of mAbs tha

Preemptive versus preventive intravenous acetaminophen/ibuprofen fixed-dose combination after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy: a comprehensive secondary analysis of a public double-blind randomized dataset.

Multimodal, opioid-sparing analgesia is central to enhanced recovery after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RALP), yet the incremental value of altering the timing of non-opioid fixed-dose combinations within standardized pathways is uncertain. Using a public, de-identified dataset from a double-blind randomized trial, we performed a comprehensive secondary analysis emphasizing pain burden, trajectories, recovery, and tolerability. Adults undergoing RALP were randomized 1:1 to intravenous acetaminophen 1,000 mg plus ibuprofen 300 mg administered either before incision (preemptive) or at t
