The aim of this prospective study was to determine and compare the orbital Doppler ultrasonography parameters of patients with Behçet's disease (with or without ocular involvement) with those of healthy subjects. We evaluated ophthalmic artery (OA), central retinal artery, posterior ciliary artery (PCA), central retinal vein, and superior ophthalmic vein (SOV) flow velocities and resistance indices (RIs). Detection of the decreased flow velocities in the OA and SOV and the increased RI in the OA and PCA might allow the identification of active period of patients with Behçet's disease.

Diastematomyelia is a form of spinal dysraphism involving sagittal clefting of the spinal cord, conus medullaris, and/or filum terminale into two hemicords. It can be an isolated finding or can be associated with meningomyelocele or meningocele. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical value of ultrasonography via vaginal in diagnosing uterine anomalies.
METHODS: Patients in Infertility Clinic were scanned by endovaginal sonography. Hysterosalpingography (HSG) or hysteroscopy were performed in patients with uterine anomalies confirmed by ultrasonography.
RESULTS: Twenty patients had uterine anomalies. Of them, 10 had double uterus, 4 had bicornuate uterus, 3 arcuate uterus, 2 septate uterus, and the other 1 unicornuate uterus.

Transverse testicular ectopia (TTE) is a rare anomaly. We report the first case of TTE described in Taiwan. The physical examination, ultrasonography (US), and laparoscopy revealed both testes in the left hemiscrotum, and surgical correction was performed. This case was diagnosed preoperatively by US, which can offer an easy, safe, and convenient alternative in the preoperative diagnosis of TTE. The possible mechanism for this anomaly and the literature are reviewed.

The authors present a case report of a 62-year-old woman who experienced irregular genital bleeding. Although the serum hCG level was extremely low, transvaginal ultrasonography revealed vesicle pattern in the uterine cavity, suggesting trophoblastic disease. Hysterectomy was performed and histological diagnosis was adenomyomatous polyp. To our knowledge, this is the first report that the adnomyomatous polyp can demonstrate the vesicle pattern on ultrasonography.

The ultrasound appearances of peritonsillar abscesses (PTA) in 15 patients with clinically suspected peritonsillar infection were assessed using intra-oral sonography and computed tomography (CT).
