Plasmacytoid urothelial carcinoma (PUC) is a newly recognized rare variant of urothelial carcinoma, which is now being increasingly diagnosed prospectively as well as by retrospective analysis of cases with a poor prognosis. BACKGROUND: Urothelial bladder cancer (UBC) is characterized by a high recurrence rate, which is predicted by scoring systems. However, recent studies show the superiority of Machine Learning (ML) models. Nevertheless, these ML approaches are rarely used in medical practice because most of them are black-box models, that cannot adequately explain how a prediction is made.
OBJECTIVE: We investigate the global feature importance of different ML models. By providing information on the most relevant features, we can facilitate the use of ML in everyday medical practice.

Ureterocele is a congenital urinary malformation resulting in pseudo-cystic dilation of the terminal ureter under the mucosa. We present the case of a 47-year-old patient who presents with irritative symptoms of the lower urinary tract with hematuria. Initial imaging suggested a bladder tumor with a bladder stone, before correcting the diagnosis of ureterocele with embedded stone by cystoscopy. Treatment included endoscopic ureterocelotomy with laser stone fragmentation.

BACKGROUND: Recurrent bladder cancer is the most common type of urinary tract malignancy; nevertheless, the mechanistic basis for its recurrence is uncertain. Innovative technologies such as single-cell transcriptomics and spatial transcriptomics (ST) offer new avenues for studying recurrent tumour progression at the single-cell level while preserving spatial data.
METHOD: This study integrated single-cell RNA (scRNA) sequencing and ST profiling to examine the tumour microenvironment (TME) of six bladder cancer tissues (three from primary tumours and three from recurrent tumours).
