Establishing the diagnosis of morning glory disc anomaly is crucial to appropriate patient treatment. Although typically made clinically, the diagnosis is not always straightforward, especially in circumstances where physical examination is limited. The goal of this study was to define the spectrum and frequency of orbital findings in a series of patients with funduscopically-confirmed morning glory disc anomaly by using MR imaging. PARTICIPANTS: We included 37 patients who underwent PLSU for intraocular tumors under age 21 years.

BACKGROUND: Lasiodiplodia theobromae is an exceptional cause of human keratomycosis.
PATIENT: We treated a 53-year-old man with fungal keratitis, which had been treated with topical betamethasone and gentamicin for 1 month, and endophthalmitis due to Lasiodiplodia theobromae. Despite intensive systemic, topical and intravitreal fungicidal treatment, enucleation had to be performed.
RESULTS: The vitreous aspirate cultures were negative as of the second amphotericin intravitreal injection. However, histology revealed that the fungus was present in the cornea, ciliary body, iris and retina.

Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) given i.v. to rabbits induced hypotension and a breakdown of the blood-aqueous barrier. Glibenclamide, a blocker of ATP-sensitive K+ (K+ATP) channels antagonized both these effects. The K+ATP channel opener diazoxide reduced blood pressure but did not damage the blood-aqueous barrier.
