A 25-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of abdominal pain, nausea and low-grade fever. An abdominal CT showed remarkable thickening of the wall of the small intestine and extensive thrombosis of the mesenteric, portal and splenic veins. Because neither intestinal infarction nor peritonitis was seen, anticoagulation therapy was chosen. Heparin was administered intravenously and was used alternatively with warfarin later. We present a rare case of small bowel obstruction in a patient on long-term anticoagulation. A 53-year woman presented with abdominal pain and vomiting. She was on warfarin following aortic and mitral valve surgery. A small bowel follow through revealed jejunal narrowing consistent with a stricture. This probably was the result of submucosal bleeding because of over warfarinazation. The warfarin was stopped and she started on heparin with complete resolution of symptoms. Portal vein thrombosis is a very uncommon complication after laparoscopic surgery. Although only one case of portal vein thrombosis has been reported after laparoscopic colectomy, there are several reports of mesenteric vascular occlusion after other laparoscopic procedures. In this paper, we describe a 25-year-old white man with Behçet's disease who developed superior vena cava syndrome which was followed with the diagnosis of pseudotumour cerebri based on bilateral papilledema for 6 months. Complete superior vena cava obstruction was detected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Secondary reasons for papilledema were all excluded. A 43-year-old woman was hospitalized with skin eruption and liver dysfunction complicated with disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) after taking Proporis, a so-called health food. A 42-year-old man with priapism is reported. The condition did not improve by cavernous body irrigation with heparin, intravenous administration of anticoagulant, or various surgical shunt operations. However, the condition improved after local radiation therapy: a total dose of 6Gy, 1.5 Gy daily for 4 days, was given to a site 24 cm x 24 cm which covered the small pelvic cavity and the femoral area centering around the root of the penis. Improvement of the condition became evident from Day 3 of radiation therapy. For about 1 year since then the patient has been entirely free of recurrence.
