Gender differences and the association between the phenomenological characteristics of autobiographical memories and psychopathic traits in a university student sample.

The study aimed to analyse the relationship between the dimensions of the triarchic model of psychopathy (meanness, boldness and disinhibition) and the phenomenological characteristics of Autobiographical Memory (AM) in a sample of university students, examining potential gender differences. Participants (N = 260; 55.4% women; aged 18-25) performed an AM task, followed by the Autobiographical Memory Characteristics Questionnaire and the Triarchic Psychopathy Measure. We found gender differences, with men scoring higher than women in meanness and disinhibition as well as in precision, accessibi

BCMA/CD47-directed universal CAR-T cells exhibit excellent antitumor activity in multiple myeloma.

BACKGROUND: BCMA-directed autologous chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cells have shown excellent clinical efficacy in relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM), however, the current preparation process for autologous CAR-T cells is complicated and costly. Moreover, the upregulation of CD47 expression has been observed in multiple myeloma, and anti-CD47 antibodies have shown remarkable results in clinical trials. Therefore, we focus on the development of BCMA/CD47-directed universal CAR-T (UCAR-T) cells to improve these limitations. METHODS: In this study, we employed phage display tec

The Place of Generic Medicines in Hospital Prescriptions: A Survey Conducted in Medical Departments of the University Hospital of Marrakesh, Morocco.

A generic medication is a copy of an original drug for which the patent has expired. It contains the same active substances and is equivalent in terms of safety, efficacy, and pharmaceutical quality. Generic drugs are produced after the expiration of the brand-name drug's patent, which enables greater competition and reduces costs for patients and healthcare systems. They are subjected to strict regulatory and quality control standards to ensure compliance with pharmaceutical norms. This study aims to determine the current status of generic drug prescribing within the medical departments of th

Socioeconomic Status and Access to Care for Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Disease in Universal Health Coverage Models.

Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the most common major congenital anomaly, affecting one in every 100 live births. Whereas over 90% of children born with CHD in low- and middle-income countries cannot access the care they need, early detection, advances in management, and financial risk protection have resulted in over 90% of children with CHD in high-income countries surviving into adulthood. Despite the presence of universal health coverage, barriers to accessing high-quality cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular care for CHD remain common. Lower socioeconomic status has been associated wit

Person-Centered Associations between High- and Low-Risk Personality Profiles and Psychological Adjustment in University Students.

Personality traits are considered potential risk or protective factors for learning and psychological adjustment. This is a concern in higher education settings, which comprise mostly youth in emerging adulthood. The purpose of this study is to apply a person-centered approach to identify personality profiles of university students based on their character traits and then evaluate whether some clusters predict differences in emotional distress and coping strategies. We conducted a cross-sectional web-based survey with 467 southern Italian undergraduate university students (M = 21.8, SD = 3.69)

A Provider-Focused Intervention to Increase Universal HIV Testing among Adolescents in School-Based Health Centers.

We describe a provider-focused intervention to increase universal HIV testing among adolescent users in a network of School-Based Health Centers (SBHC) and compare the rate of HIV test offer and acceptance for SBHCs with and without the HIV testing intervention. The intervention was implemented at the six largest SBHCs in the 12-site network and included system- and staff-level initiatives, including an implementation coach to support SBHC associates. Rates of HIV test offer and acceptance at six sites in the Intervention Cohort were compared to that at the six sites in a Non-Intervention Coho

Effect of Universal Credit on young children's mental health: quasi-experimental evidence from Understanding Society.

BACKGROUND: Child mental health has become an increasingly important issue in the UK, especially in the context of significant welfare reforms. Universal Credit (UC) has introduced substantial changes to the UK's social security system, significantly impacting low-income families. Our aim was to assess the effects of UC's introduction on children's mental health for families eligible for UC versus a comparable non-eligible sample. METHODS: Using Understanding Society data from 5806 observations of 4582 children (aged 5 or 8 years) in Great Britain between 2012 and 2018, we created two groups:

Leaving no one behind in armed conflict-affected settings of Africa: is universal health coverage a possibility or mirage?

The world is off track six years to the 2030 deadline for attaining the sustainable development goals and universal health coverage. This is particularly evident in Africa's armed conflict-affected and humanitarian settings, where pervasively weak health systems, extreme poverty and inequitable access to the social dimensions and other determinants of health continue to pose significant challenges to universal health coverage. In this article, we review the key issues and main barriers to universal health coverage in such settings. While our review shows that the current health service deliver
