Tumours of round ligament of uterus are rare. Leiomyoma of the round ligament can present as inguinal swelling mimicking an incarcerated/irreducible hernia / inguinal secondaries / lymph node. It arises from smooth muscle of round ligament. It can be diagnosed preoperatively by CT scan or following exploration. Surgery is the treatment of choice for this condition.

Hydrometrocolpos is cystic dilatation of the vagina and uterus due to congenital vaginal obstruction. It may be secretory or urinary in character and manifests in the neonatal period with abdominal distension. Urinary hydrometrocolpos occurs in patients with urogenital sinus or cloacal anomaly. A rare case of antenatal MR diagnosis of urinary hydrometrocolpos due to urogenital sinus is presented.

A fifty-year-old male patient with bilateral cryptorchidism and abdominal mass due to a large seminoma was found to have persistent müllerian duct derivatives: uterus and fallopian tubes. The patient underwent total hysterosalpingectomy and bilateral intra-abdominal orchidectomy of a seminoma and testes. He was given maintenance testosterone and pelvic irradiation.

We present an overview of the case of a patient with early hysterorrhaphy dehiscence (uteroperitoneal fistula) with endomyometritis and post-cesarean section peritonitis and puerperal acute abdomen in a 35-year-old puerpera. A exploratory relaparotomy, necrectomy, and resuture of the dehiscent part of the hysterotomy were performed with placement of hemostatic sponges on the same portion of the uterus with good recovery.

Ectopic twin pregnancy is rare. Most frequently it occurs as a heterotopic pregnancy located simultaneously in the the fallopian tube and in the uterus. An unusual case of an intact unilateral ectopic twin pregnancy in the 7th week of gestation was diagnosed at this early stage by TVS (transvaginal ultrasound). The patient was successfully treated by laparoscopic salpingectomy. A review of the current literature is discussed.

The persistent müllerian duct syndrome represents a rare form of male pseudohermaphroditism secondary to anti-müllerian hormone deficiency. We describe 2 cases of phenotypically male postpubertal patients with a uterus and tubes. Both patients presented with bilateral cryptorchidism, 1 was seen for gynecomastia and 1 was seen for an abdominal mass that was found to be a testicular tumor.

The authors described a case of endometriosis of the urinary bladder and periodically active uterovesical fistula, following Cesarean section. Clinical symptoms of endometriosis dominated and were the reason for the patient's visiting the physician. Clinical diagnosis was made by cystoscopy during menstruation. Surgical resection of the focus of endometriosis of the bladder and uterus during menstruation led to permanent recovery.

Since its introduction in 1959 the plastic intra-uterine contraceptive device (IUCD) has been accepted as a safe and convenient means of preventing conception. Nevertheless, use of the IUCD has been attended by complications, notably perforation of the uterus by the device. An unusual case of translocation of an IUCD--the device was located within the lumen of the appendix--is presented.

Anterior lenticonus is reported in a 20-year-old female who had perceptive deafness, albuminuria, microscopic haematuria, pyuria, primary amenorrhoea, aplasia of the uterus and poorly developed external genitalia. Chromosomal study revealed 45 XO pattern. It is suggested that the gene for anterior lenticonus is recessive and is carried in the short term of the X chromosome.

PURPOSE: Approximately 20% of women worldwide have a retroverted uterus. A retroverted uterus is closer to the rectum and may cause toxicity during brachytherapy. Upon manipulation, a small percentage turn anteverted. Conventional brachytherapy applicators are designed for an anteverted uterus and can pose issues during insertion.
