[68 Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 Small Bowel Uptake in Crohn's Disease: Revisiting the "Non-specificity" of PSMA Ligands.

Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) is a heterogeneous group of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas that manifest primarily in the skin. Mycosis fungoides is recognized as the most common type of CTCL. Patients with early-stage CTCL usually have a benign and chronic disease course. However, although there is a wide array of therapeutic options for early-stage CTCL, not all patients respond to these individual therapies, resulting in refractory cutaneous disease over time. Refractory early-stage CTCL poses an important therapeutic challenge, as one of the principal treatment goals is to keep the disease confi

Sjögren's syndrome associated dry eye in a mouse model is ameliorated by topical application of integrin α4 antagonist GW559090.

Sjögren's syndrome is an autoimmune disease associated with inflammation of exocrine glands with clinical manifestations of dry eye and dry mouth. Dry eye in this disease involves inflammation of the ocular surface tissues - cornea and conjunctiva. While systemic blockade of adhesion molecules has been used to treat autoimmune diseases, the purpose of this study was to determine the therapeutic efficacy of topical application of an integrin α4 adhesion molecule antagonist in a mouse model of dry eye associated with Sjögren's syndrome. To assess this spontaneously developed ocular surface infla

Calcipotriol vs. tazarotene as combination therapy with narrowband ultraviolet B (311 nm): efficacy in patients with severe psoriasis.

BACKGROUND: Phototherapy has been shown to be one of the most effective treatment modalities for patients with psoriasis. Nevertheless, photocombination therapies capable both of reducing cumulative ultraviolet (UV) doses and of accelerating clearance of skin lesions are important and of high interest. There have been no published studies comparing the effect of narrowband UVB irradiation in combination with topical application of tazarotene vs. calcipotriol. OBJECTIVES: To determine, in a half-side manner, whether a combination of UVB (311 nm) and tazarotene is superior to UVB (311 nm) plus

Reconstitution of T follicular helper-humoral immune axis with elimination of hepatitis C virus.

Exhaustion of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV)-specific T cells and abnormal B cell function is a hallmark of chronic HCV infection. Direct-acting antiviral (DAA) therapies are effective in achieving sustained virologic response (SVR), however, whether successful DAA treatment reconstitute T follicular helper (TFH)-B cell axis in HCV patients is unclear. Here, we aimed to evaluate the immunological changes in global and HCV-specific CD4 + CXCR5 + TFH, CD4 + CXCR5-T and B cells in 20 HCV patients who achieved SVR with Sofosbuvir and Ledipasvir for 12 weeks and compared with 15 healthy controls (HC). Combination of Intense Pulsed Light and Topical Eflornithine Therapy Versus Intense Pulsed Light Alone in the Treatment of Idiopathic Facial Hirsutism: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

BACKGROUND: Idiopathic facial hirsutism (IFH) exerts a measurable negative impact on psychosocial well-being, even in the absence of identifiable endocrine dysfunction. Although light-based epilation technologies offer durable hair reduction, treatment-resistant regrowth remains a clinical challenge. Adjunctive topical therapies that modulate follicular activity are under investigation to potentially enhance and prolong the efficacy of such interventions. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study is to compare the efficacy and tolerability of six-month sessions of intense pulsed light (IPL) comb

Effect of a Tranexamic Acid, Kojic Acid, and Niacinamide Containing Serum on Facial Dyschromia: A Clinical Evaluation.

Background: Stubborn dyschromia such as melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) are leading causes for cosmetic consultation. Topical treatment is challenging, using a range of modalities, to stop, hinder, and/or prevent steps in the pigment production process. Tranexamic acid (TXA), a potent plasmin inhibitor, is proposed to control pigmentation by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators involved in triggering melanogenesis. TXA has been recently introduced as a topical therapy aimed at reducing pigmentation in melasma. Methods: In a 12-week clinical study, a novel, top

Topical drug delivery to the eye: dorzolamide.

Topically applied carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (CAIs) in eye drop solutions are commonly used to treat glaucoma. However, local eye irritation and multiple daily administrations may hamper their clinical usefulness. Aqueous eye drop formulations that improve their topical bioavailability and reduce their eye irritation can improve their clinical efficacy. Earlier studies showed that dorzolamide and closely related CAIs are more effectively delivered into the eye from acidic eye drop solutions than from comparable neutral solutions. Consequently, dorzolamide was marketed as an aqueous pH 5.6 e
