OBJECTIVE: To study the association between polymorphism of DNA repair gene xeroderma pigmentosum G (XPG) Asp1104His and the risks of developing laryngeal and hypopharyngeal carcinomas.

Forty-one cases of histiocytic sarcoma (HS) in C57BL/6J mice were histopathologically studied with special regard to unexpected associated hematopoietic disorders. These cases were retrieved among C57BL/6J female mice used as control mice in a chronic low-dose irradiation experiment. Hematopoietic characteristics were analysed by comparison to 41 disease-free mice from the same cohort. Several placebo-controlled trials have shown the efficacy of clomipramine (CMI) in panic disorder. However, none has investigated the relationship between CMI, and desmethylclomipramine (DCMI) plasma levels, and outcome. A case of occult coeliac disease (CD) presenting with recurrent monoarthritis in a boy aged 11 years is reported. The case is unique due to the association of occult untreated CD and arthritis in childhood. Peripheral or axial arthritis as a first manifestation of occult CD has been described in adult patients, with an interval between the arthritis and CD of up to 15 years. We have used immunohistochemistry to study the expression of nm23 protein in thyroid tissues from 101 patients consisting of 78 malignant neoplasms, 13 adenomas, and 10 other benign conditions.
