Recovery phase infection patterns in 55 patients who had undergone autologous blood progenitor cell transplantation (ABPCT) were evaluated retrospectively. The temperature sensitivity of human papillomavirus type 11 was evaluated by using a human xenograft severe combined immunodeficiency mouse model. Incubation of the virus for 1 h at a temperature higher than 56 degrees C but lower than 72 degrees C was sufficient to inhibit the virally induced growth of infected human tissue. However, 100 degrees C was necessary to completely inactivate HPV type 11 genome expression.

A 21-year-old female presenting with malignant histiocytosis was initially treated with conventional aggressive chemotherapy resulting in complete remission (CR) but relapsed within 6 months of discontinuation. The patient was reinduced with two cycles of cis-platinum, cytosine arabinoside and mitoxantrone and achieved CR, at which time she received single agent high-dose melphalan followed by autologous bone marrow transplant. She remains in CR 36 months after the autograft procedure.

We report the experiences in 6 major craniofacial centers, with similar teams but in different parts of the world, in a total of 793 craniofacial operations. The mortality rate was 1.6%. Complications developed in 16.5% of the cases (including infections in 4.4%). This study was to screen differentially expressed proteins between ovarian carcinoma cell lines with directional (SKOV3-pm2 and SKOV3-pm3) and non-directional (SKOV3) highly lymphatic metastasis potentials using time-of-flight mass spectrometry technology and protein chips.
