Curative radiotherapy for cancer patients requires the use of radiation doses that are limited by the tolerance of the surrounding normal tissues. Unfortunately, these tolerance doses vary not only between tissues but also between individuals. Occupational exposure to ionizing radiation remains an important radiation protection concern among radiology workers. This study assessed cytogenetic damage among radiology workers in Ghana using the dicentric chromosome assay and cytokinesis-block micronucleus assay alongside routine thermoluminescent dosimeter (TLD) records. Outdoor gamma radiation measurements in Cluj County, Romania have been performed using solid-state thermoluminescent detectors in order to develop a high-resolution database for natural gamma dose rates. Integrated measurements have been carried out for an exposure time of minimum 3 weeks. According to European Union requirements, the territory has been divided into 69 grids of 10 × 10 km. The cells were monitored using LiF:Mg,Cu,P detectors. For two locations the results were 136 ± 7 and 150 ± 7 nGy h(-1), respectively. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of ANSON NANOTECH on the healing of cutaneous chronic wounds.
METHODS: Thirty-four cases with 44 wounds were locally treated with ANSON NANOTECH in the wounds after debridement. Among them, there were 15 cases with traumatic ulcer (23 wounds), 9 cases with pressure ulcer(11 wounds), 5 cases with diabetes ulcer, and 5 cases with radiation ulcer.
