However, it has been suggested that implant removal should be performed in cases of joint impingement, painful scar adhesion, and implant malposition. OBJECTIVE: To learn about the clinical distribution and drug resistance of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) isolated from inpatients and provide evidence for clinically reasonable use of antibiotics.
METHODS: Data including clinical features and drug sensitivity of S. aureus isolated from hospitalized patients in the last two years were analyzed.

The authors' experience using anterior T-frame external fixation combined with percutaneous internal fixation for treatment of high-energy proximal tibial fractures is reported. Thirty-six patients (38 fractures) were reviewed who were treated during a consecutive 42-month period. Three patients died and one patient had an amputation for a Type IIIC open injury, leaving 20 males and 12 females with 21 closed and 13 open fractures (two Type II, seven Type IIIA, three Type IIIB, and one Type IIIC). Cefaclor is a new oral cephalosporin with in vitro activity against a wide variety of organisms including S. aureus, S. pneumoniae, S. pyogenes and H. influenzae (including ampicillin-resistant strains). The efficacy and safety of amikacin were evaluated in 42 patients with infections presumed to be due to gram-negative rods.
