BACKGROUND: Luxatio erecta humeri or inferior dislocation of the glenohumeral joint is a rare presentation in the emergency department that is typically caused by a direct loading force on a fully abducted arm. This type of shoulder dislocation represents only 0.5% of all shoulder dislocations, making bilateral cases even more unique.

Radial head replacement or ORIF are established treatment options for Mason type-III and type-IV fractures. The aim of this study was to provide results for reconstruction of these complex fractures using fine-threaded K-wires. We present results after reconstruction of 15 Mason type-III and 8 Mason type-IV fractures. Parameters used to describe the functional outcome were pain level, range of motion, and clinical scores. PURPOSE: To analyze the clinical and radiographic characteristics, treatment, and outcome of patients with elbow osteoblastoma.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: We present 13 patients (7 males and 6 females; mean age, 28 years) diagnosed and treated for an elbow osteoblastoma from 1975 to 2012. Mean follow-up was 29 months (range 12-60 months). Clinical presentation, imaging, surgical treatment, complications, range of elbow motion, and functional outcome were evaluated. We compared results of lateral pinning procedure with crossed pinning, closed reduction, and open reduction in a retrospective review of 184 patients with displaced supracondylar humeral fractures. All patients had a minimum of 2 years follow-up (range 36-90 months). Patients were separated into 4 groups. Success was estimated by Flynn's criteria. We compared success of the lateral pinning to others procedures. Incidence of nerve palsy was recorded and compared. BACKGROUND: The purpose of this study was to identify characteristics associated with bilateral ruptures of the distal biceps tendons.
METHODS: We present a retrospective case series of 25 patients who sustained non-simultaneous bilateral distal biceps brachii tendon ruptures that were repaired surgically, with follow-up available on 10 patients. The average age of the patients was 50 years (range 28-76). All patients were male. The mean time from the first tendon rupture to the contralateral tendon rupture was 2.7 years (range 0.5 - 6.3). Follow-up averaged 45 months (range 24-85).
