A diagnosis of the Neu-Laxova syndrome was made by ultrasonography in the third trimester of pregnancy. Initial ultrasonographic examination, at approximately 28 wk gestation, showed intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR), hypoechoic skeletal structures, kyphosis, feeble fetal activity, and restricted limb movement. Bone marrow cells (BMCs) of MRL/Mp-lpr/lpr (MRL/l) mice, when infused into irradiated MRL/Mp-+/+ (MRL/n) mice, induced graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and recipients died of wasting syndromes beginning around a few weeks later. Nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome has as its hallmarks such diverse manifestations as numerous cutaneous basal cell cancers and epidermal cysts, palmar and plantar pits, keratocysts of the jaw, calcified dural folds, various skeletal anomalies, cleft lip and/or palate, and various other neoplasms or hamartomas. Inheritance is autosomal dominant. The etiology of all of the above findings appears to be a mutation in a tumor suppressor gene that also plays a role in normal embryonic development.

OBJECTIVE: Severe destruction of the wrist joint after trauma, disease, or iatrogenic causes can lead to significant bone defects and deformities, limiting the options for surgeries. Bespoke 3D-printed metal prostheses were designed and used for four patients. This study aimed to describe the design rationale and report the clinical outcomes.
METHODS: Between 2022 and August 2024, we followed up on four patients with significant bone defects and deformities caused by various factors, who opted against arthrodesis. These patients were treated with customized 3D-printed prostheses replacements.

OBJECTIVES: To explore the feasibility of using high-frequency ultrasound for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of acute calcific periarthritis (ACP).
METHOD: A total of 35 ACP patients in Group A and 38 gouty patients in Group B underwent ultrasound examination. All the ultrasound images were observed and analysed, and the sizes of the tophi and calcifications in the hands were measured. The differences in ultrasound features between Group A and Group B were examined. A t test was used to determine significant differences in size between ACP calcifications and gouty tophi.
