The purpose of the study is to evaluate the outcomes of semirigid ureterorenoscopy and intracorporeal lithotripsy as a definitive treatment in pregnant women with obstructive ureteral calculi. A retrospective analysis was performed of 16 pregnant patients referred to gynecology department with ureteral obstruction from 2007 to 2009. PURPOSE: Fornix rupture is a urological emergency situation. In most cases ureteral stones represent the underlying cause. We present the largest series ever reported.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Between 1994 bis 2005 a total of 162 patients were diagnosed with a fornix rupture. There were 121 men and 41 women with a median age of 53 years (range: 20-79 years). We investigated the following parameters: underlying cause of fornix rupture, symptoms, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Nephrolithiasis and nephrocalcinosis in low-birth-weight, preterm neonates are well-documented complications of furosemide administration. Perinephric urinomas and urinary ascites have been previously reported as complications of obstruction due to posterior urethral valves or ureteropelvic junction obstruction. We present an unusual case of furosemide-induced nephrolithiasis causing ureteral obstruction, urinoma, and acute renal failure in a preterm neonate.

The effect of the calcium channel blocker verapamil on prostaglandin (PG) E2 production by hydronephrotic cortical interstitial cells in primary culture was investigated. A case of unilateral ureteral obstruction owing to extensive pelvic endometriosis is presented. There was complete resolution of ureteral obstruction following treatment with synthetic progestin. Sequential assessment of renal function was provided by renal imaging and renograms. It would appear that selected patients with obstructive uropathy may respond favorably to medical management, which would allow for preservation of reproductive capabilities and restoration of renal excretory function.
