Urachal carcinoma is a rare tumor that has not been well studied. To determine the pathologic and clinical features of this disease, we retrospectively evaluated 46 cases from our surgical pathology files. The patients included 16 women and 30 men, with a mean age of 53.4 years (range, 28-82 years). Forty patients had undergone cystectomy, and the remaining 6 had undergone transurethral bladder biopsy. BACKGROUND: Macrocystic serous cystadenomas (MaSCA) are rare benign tumor of the pancreas which represent an atypical macroscopic morphologic variant of serous cystadenomas (SCA). PURPOSE: Mucocele of the appendix is an infrequent event, characterized by a cystic dilatation of the lumen. It is often diagnosed clinically from signs and symptoms of acute appendicitis or, if it is asymptomatic, as an incidental finding during ultrasonography, computed tomography, or laparotomy.

Villous tumors are rare and their histological diagnosis from biopsy specimens is often difficult. To ascertain its tumor progression, including the genetic events, would be useful for clinical treatment. Clinicopathological features and the expression of p53 and bcl-2 proteins were investigated in 50 villous tumors from 49 patients. In ovarian cancer patients a 6 kDa polypeptide, the tumour-associated trypsin inhibitor (TATI), can occur at elevated concentrations in both urine and serum. In this study pretreatment serum levels of TATI (cut-off point 21 ng ml-1) and CA 125 (cut-off points 35 U ml-1 and 65 U ml-1) were determined in 152 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer (115 primary and 37 recurrent) and in 267 women with benign pelvic diseases.
