Ataxia telangiectasia (A-T) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease with onset in early childhood, caused by mutations in the ATM (ataxia-telangiectasia mutated) gene. Diagnosis relies on laboratory tests showing high levels of serum alphafetoprotein, cell sensitivity to ionizing radiation (IR) and absence or reduced levels of ATM protein. AIM: Aim of the study is to evaluate breast masses using mammography (MG) and ultrasonography (USG) independently and in combination.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Our study group consisted of 62 female patients, with breast symptoms such as palpable lumps, pain in the breast and nipple discharge who were examined prospectively over a period of 6 months. All 62 patients were examined by both MG and USG independently. INTRODUCTION: Legal claims against radiologists are a relevant phenomenon also in our country and represent an increasing risk for a radiologist's professional activity.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: We reviewed the 1993-1998 insurance claims against Italian radiologists. We found 259 claims subdivided by type into: 1) misdiagnosis; 2) complications of the examination; 3) missed referral for further examinations/treatment; 4) (non)ionizing radiation treatment; 5) slip-and-fall injuries; 6) miscellaneous cases. The current study uses the Chernobyl disaster optimizer (CDO), a new metaheuristic optimizer, to identify the seven unknown parameters of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). The procedures of the CDO is based on physical behavior of the elaborated radiations from the well-known Chernobyl disaster according to their mass, speed, frequency, and degree of ionization. The sum of square errors (SMSE) among the estimated and the real measured output voltage datasets of SOFCs is minimized employing the CDO. Set of boundaries of the SOFC's process is taken into consideration with the problem formulation.
