BACKGROUND: Although low-dose methotrexate has been used to treat mycosis fungoides for many years, documentation is very limited.
OBJECTIVE: Our purpose was to review our experience with methotrexate in the treatment of 69 patients with patch/plaque and tumor stage mycosis fungoides observed for up to 201 months.
METHODS: This was a retrospective study. Data are presented in terms of response rates and time to treatment failure.

OBJECTIVE: This study was undertaken to determine the clinical outcome for neonates who were exposed to indomethacin during gestation.
STUDY DESIGN: We identified 124 infants with in utero exposure to indomethacin and matched them to 124 infants whose mothers did not receive indomethacin. The two groups were matched for gestational age at birth, sex, and exposure to antenatal betamethasone. Sixty-two of the indomethacin-exposed infants were born within 48 hours of last exposure. The purpose of this study was to clarify the mental health needs of Iraqi immigrants who arrived in the United States in the 1990s after the Persian Gulf War. The records of 375 clients were examined at a clinic that serves Arab Americans. More posttraumatic stress disorder and health problems were found in Iraqi refugees than in other clients. Results suggest the need for further research on immigrants with traumatic histories to facilitate effective treatments.

A retrospective study was performed of 17 dogs and seven cats with various stages of thymoma treated with radiation alone or as an adjunctive therapy. Analysis revealed an overall response rate of 75% (15/20 evaluable cases). Partial (i.e., >50% reduction in tumor size) and complete (i.e., no detectable tumor) responses were included. This six-center, retrospective study evaluated the effectiveness, tolerability, and safety of vagus nerve stimulation in children. Data were available for 125 patients at baseline, 95 patients at 3 months, 56 patients at 6 months, and 12 patients at 12 months. A peculiar form of ovarian bursa pathology, called hydrobursitis, is described in the dromedary camel. This malformation is characterized by a collection of fluid within the ovarian bursa with encapsulation of the ovary. Retrospective study of all diagnosed cases in our laboratory shows that this malformation is responsible for reduced reproductive performance due to abortion, infertility and embryonic death.
