Four accurate, sensitive, and reproducible stability-indicating methods for the determination of erdosteine in the presence of its acid degradation products are presented. The first method involves processing the spectra by using a first-derivative method at 229 nm in a concentration range of 10-70 microg/mL. The mean percentage recovery was 100.43 +/- 0.977. OBJECTIVES: The chemical study of a dichloromethane extract from Azorella compacta was directed to the isolation of characteristic mulinane and azorellane diterpenoids in order to determine their gastroprotective activity.

OBJECTIVE: Some points of pathogenesis in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) are still unknown. In this study we evaluated the characteristics of this disease and its relationship with ghrelin in adolescence.
DESIGN: A prospective case control study was designed. Four groups: obese PCOS (n = 13), lean PCOS (n = 13), obese control (n = 10) and lean control (n = 10) were formed. Oral glucose tolerance tests (OGTT) were performed on all subjects. Laboratory and clinical features of groups were compared.
