We report the case of Mooren's ulcer recurrence after uncomplicated cataract surgery in a 61-year-old woman. This cataract developed because of repetitive inflammation of the anterior chamber and corticotherapy. Local and general corticotherapy with cyclosporin 2% drops was started in association with an anterior lamellar graft and a conjunctival recession due to a preperforation condition. We report two cases of pressure ulcers in liver cirrhosis patients. In case 1, a 64-year-old Japanese woman had suffered from liver cirrhosis caused by hepatitis C virus and developed a pressure ulcer on her sacral and coccygeal area due to long-term bedrest. We report the case of a patient with severe diffuse peripheral vascular disease, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and gastrointestinal bleeding with a pseudoaneurysm of descending thoracic aorta who underwent successful Dacron patch aortoplasty. She was not a candidate for stent-graft repair because of poor access. Using a partial occluding clamp, the pseudoaneurysm was excised and the aorta repaired with a 3.5-cm Dacron patch. She was discharged home in 7 days and has successfully undergone stenting of the left subclavian artery and right and left carotid endarterectomy.

A patient admitted for acute abdomen was incidentally found with elevated serum calcium level. In surgery, under conservative treatment of the hypercalcemia, a perforated duodenal ulcer was found and simple closure was performed. Cathelicidin, a cationic host defense peptide, has been shown to promote cutaneous wound repair and reaches high levels in the gastric mucosa during infection and inflammation.
