A nephrogenic adenoma located within a urethral diverticulum of a female was found incidental to a diverticulectomy. Cases of this apparently benign lesion have been reported previously, but the lesions were located in the bladder, particularly in older males with a history of chronic cystitis.

53 patients presenting with post-prostatectomy obstructive complications above the colliculus seminalis were treated in a single session by means of guided dilatation of the stricture followed by transurethral resection of the stenosing fibrotic tissue. No failures or complications with the guided dilatation technique have been observed. The results obtained after resection in cases of bladder neck stenosis were very encourging. Unsatisfactory results were observed in cases of prostatic urethral stenosis because resection is not a technique sufficient for stable resolution of the obstruction.

Acute purulent urethritis is a complication associated with an indwelling. Foley catheter in male patients. A refractory purulent urethral discharge, fever and the sequelae of urethral stricture, periurethral abscess and epididymitis are familiar problems to the urologist. The usual therapy is removal of the catheter, antibiosis and provision for another type of vesical drainage. Our recent successful experience using clean intermittent catheterization to treat an acute urethritis is presented.

A completely new and different principle of 'wireless' endoscope is described. The 'contact endoscope' consists of two parts, a rod which is the optical element and a light recovery jacket. This endoscope utilizes the surrounding light, either daylight or artificial light. It allows endoscopic photography and cinematography with a magnificant of nearly five. For urethrocystoscopy it represents a safe introductory rod (mandrel) introduced under visual control. It can be used in kidney surgery for finding stones in calyxes.
