BACKGROUND: Advanced abdominal pregnancy is rare, and one that occurs after uterine rupture with delivery of a viable fetus is exceptional.
CASE: A multiparous patient was admitted at 29 weeks of gestation for conservative management of placenta previa. She complained of intermittent abdominal pain, but repeated assessment suggested that both the patient and the fetus were doing well. At 36 weeks, an abdominal pregnancy was diagnosed with radiological features suggestive of uterine rupture. Laparotomy was performed and a healthy infant was delivered.

Bowel perforation is an unusual complication of ventriculoperitoneal shunting. This article describes a case of bowel perforation associated with a ventriculoperitoneal shunt inserted in an 8-month-old male infant for meningocoele and hydrocephalus. Ten months after insertion of the shunt the infant presented with the shunting tube protruding through the anus. There were no signs of meningitis or peritonitis. Lymphangiomas are benign tumors consisting of lymphatic vasculature that generally occur in the skin and soft tissues. Rarely, lymphangiomas occur in the gastrointestinal tract. Here, we report a case of a 13-year-old girl presenting with an intestinal obstruction. We report a case of a 38-year-old woman who presents at 31 weeks of gestation with acute abdominal pain. Computed tomography (CT) scan of the abdomen and pelvis showed a cecal volvulus. BACKGROUND: Pelvic masses can arise from gynecologic, nongynecologic, intraperitoneal and retroperitoneal structures. A retroperitoneal lipoma presenting as an adnexal mass is exceedingly rare.
CASE: A 27-year-old, healthy woman had pelvic discomfort and was found to have pelvic organ displacement to the left side and a right adnexal mass. Ultrasonography revealed an echogenic adnexal mass, and computed tomography suggested a lipoma. UNLABELLED: A 7-mo-old girl with an asymptomatic antenatally diagnosed choledochal cyst was referred to the regional paediatric surgical centre for advice on management. Following further radiological investigation and discussion with the supra-regional centre, a date for elective surgery was arranged. Conjoint twins have always been a surgical challenge. The authors report an unusual finding in a surviving epigastric heteropagus twin. A 17 year old boy who underwent laparotomy for acute intestinal obstruction revealed a blind ending but complete duplication of the large bowel and an accessory liver in the falciform ligament, along with a separate gall bladder but with fused bile ducts.
