We present a case of ureteral metastasis from a primary breast cancer where the disease recurred with an episode of renal colic 7 years after diagnosis. A surgical operation was performed to remove the terminal ureter and the perimeatal area of the urinary bladder. Urological and radiological outcome was satisfactory after a 2-year follow up.

AIMS AND BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to describe a case of primary orbital liposarcoma in Li-Fraumeni syndrome.
METHODS AND STUDY DESIGN: In July 1998 a 20-year-old woman with a histological diagnosis of orbital myxoid liposarcoma underwent surgical treatment in our department. Since the patient's family pedigree met the clinical criteria for the diagnosis of LFS, molecular analysis was performed, which resulted in a molecular profile consistent with Li-Fraumeni syndrome.

Metastasis to the breast from extramammary malignancies is rare. This is the third case report of metastatic breast cancer from esophageal cancer. We report the clinical, radiographic, and pathologic findings of a 57-year-old woman who underwent esophagectomy for esophageal cancer and developed metastatic cancer 2 years later. Pathologic examination of a resected specimen of the breast revealed squamous cell carcinoma invading the mammary glands. Estrogen receptor and axillary lymph node metastasis were negative with immunostaining. She is alive 6 months after the modified radical mastectomy.

We describe a patient affected by adrenal insufficiency due to metastases of breast cancer. Adrenal involvement became clinically evident 20 years after radical mastectomy and it was the only secondary localization of the tumor. There is still no evidence of other metastases after a two year follow-up. This case suggests that adrenal function evaluation should be included in periodical follow-ups of patients who underwent radical mastectomy for breast cancer.

A solitary metastasis must be distinguished from the primary breast cancer as the treatment and prognosis are quite different. A 38-year-old woman was admitted because of left pneumothorax on March 16, 1991. She had undergone modified radical mastectomy in Dec. 1986. Chest roentgenogram on admission show a tumor shadow in the left upper lobe. She was diagnosed to have pneumothorax due to metastatic lung tumor. She underwent left upper lobectomy. Histologically poorly differentiated papillotubular adenocarcinoma was found and the cause of pneumothorax was thought to be necrosis of the tumor and direct invasion of the pleura.
