A 71-year-old man with a right renal tumor underwent nephrectomy. The procedure was converted from laparoscopy to open surgery due to profound bleeding from the renal vein. Pathological diagnosis was clear cell carcinoma G2pT3b v1 ly1 INFα. Three years after surgery, a 5 cm tumor in the abdominal wall was found on computed tomography (CT). A 59-year-old man developed an episode of syncope while he was driving. This resulted in a motor vehicle accident, and the patient sustained an open fracture of the left femur. Biopsy of the left femur fracture showed a metastastic renal cell carcinoma, and echocardiography revealed a right ventricular mass without contiguous vena caval or right atrial involvement. This is one of the few reported cases of renal cell carcinoma associated with syncope as an initial symptom.

INTRODUCTION: The assessment of the prognosis for the individual patient is important for the choice of surgical treatment of skeletal metastases. In 1999 the Scandinavian Sarcoma Group (SSG) initiated the Skeletal Metastasis Register as a multicentric, prospective study to provide a scientific basis for treatment recommendations. We report two cases of priapism with metastases to the penis. The first case was a 52-year old man, diagnosed as suffering from gastric cancer by endoscopic biopsy five years previously, but for whom no treatment was performed. He visited our office due to priapism with a duration of 11 days. Physical examination showed two palpable mass lesions on the glans.
