The Effect of Pushing the Support Surface With the Upper Limbs on Angular Changes and Muscle Activity During the Momentum-Transfer Phase of the Sit-to-Stand.

Introduction The sit-to-stand (STS) transition is a movement in which the body's center of gravity shifts upward from a seated to a standing position while maintaining balance. Previous studies have reported that this movement is significantly affected by the presence or absence of upper limb support. The momentum transfer phase (Phase II) of STS begins at the moment of buttocks lift off and continues until the ankle joint reaches maximum dorsiflexion. This phase is considered critical, as it requires maximal muscle activity to maintain stability during elevation of the center of gravity while

Dynamic neuromuscular stabilization training for chronic ankle instability: A randomized controlled trial in amateur athletes.

BackgroundChronic ankle instability (CAI) is a widespread condition in athletes, characterized by recurrent episodes of ankle "giving way," diminished neuromuscular control and balance deficits. Traditional rehabilitation programmes typically emphasize strength and posture control, while more effective strategies incorporate balance training, including open chain exercises, vestibular training and multi-planar movements. In addition, novel approaches such as Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) present an innovative method that aims to restore functional stability by activating the brain'

[Economic Relevance of Preventable Prohibitions of Employment in Bavarian Schools].

INTRODUCTION: According to the Maternity Protection Act, an occupational risk of infection (e. g. in childcare) - combined with individual immunity gaps - can result in an irresponsible risk for pregnant women in the workplace. If this risk cannot be eliminated by any other means, the employer must impose a prohibition of employment (PE) for the pregnant woman concerned. We classified PE as preventable if the underlying immunity gaps could have been closed by immunisation prior to pregnancy. METHODS: From 01.09.2016 to 25.03.2020, 1922 pregnant employees of Bavarian state schools obtained med

Nanoparticle-integrated dissolving microneedles for the co-delivery of R848/aPD-1 to synergistically reverse the immunosuppressive microenvironment of triple-negative breast cancer.

Nowadays, effective immunotherapy against triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) remains challenging due to the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Immune checkpoint inhibitor is mostly employed to restore the activity of tumor-specific immune cells, which however brings little therapeutic outcome owing to the limited number of tumor-infiltrating CD8+ T cells and the inefficient delivery of immune drugs to the tumor tissue. Aiming to solve these problems, we herein constructed a tailor-made dissolving microneedle co-encapsulating the TLR7/8 agonist R848 and the immune checkpoint inhibitor
