PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Differences in health outcomes between children who are HIV-exposed but uninfected (CHEU) compared to children who are HIV-unexposed (CHU) have been reported both before and since the availability of antiretroviral therapy (ART) during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
