Tamoxifen is the standard adjuvant treatment for women with breast carcinoma, decreasing the incidence of contralateral disease. However, the risk of endometrial cancer is increased. The diagnostic value of endovaginal ultrasound in some perimenopausal endometrial disorders has been evaluated. A search of the literature included in the Medline database system has been performed and more than 20 original papers were reviewed.
