We report on the establishment and characterization of 2 primary (EOM-3, EOM-29) and 3 metastatic uveal melanoma cell lines (OMM-1, OMM-2, OMM-3) and further cytogenetic characterization of a previously described primary uveal melanoma cell line (OCM-1). To investigate the relationship between human islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP)/amylin expression and islet amyloid deposits in the pathogenesis of human non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM), we developed transgenic mice using a human IAPP cDNA connected to an insulin promoter. Haemophilus ducreyi is a sexually transmitted pathogen that causes genital ulcers and inguinal adenopathy.
