Inflammatory Tinea capitis (TC) is a rare form of TC. The aim of this study was to review epidemiological, clinical and mycological profile of inflammatory TC. We present a retrospective study (1999-2010), enrolled all the cases of inflammatory TC observed at a referral hospital in the northern Tunisia. There is scarcity of data regarding significance of candiduria in patients with haematologic malignancies and its association with invasive candidiasis. To that end, we retrospectively evaluated all hospitalised, non-intensive care unit patients with haematologic malignancies and candiduria during a 10-year period (2001-2011). A variety of non-dermatophyte moulds can cause human onychomycosis. We report an unusual case of onychomycosis caused by Phaeoacremonium parasiticum, which has not been mentioned in the literature before. The diagnosis was made by a clinical-mycological correlation. The pathogen was identified by morphological characteristics and further confirmed by sequencing of the β-tubulin gene.
