A Fast Time-Adaptive Data Association Method for Multi-Target Tracking with Discontinuous Sparse LEO Satellite Observations.

In low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellite constellation remote sensing for surface maritime target detection, the inherent characteristics of discontinuous detection epochs, non-uniform temporal intervals, and clutter contamination invariably cause conventional data association algorithms to suffer from validation gate degradation, covariance divergence, and combinatorial explosion. To circumvent these limitations, this paper proposes a multi-target, time-adaptive fast association method tailored for discontinuous sparse observations. Within the joint probabilistic data association (JPDA) framework,

Machine Learning in Nonhuman Primate Models of Infectious Diseases: Current Applications and Future Perspectives.

The amount of biologic data produced by biomedical research has increased significantly in both volume and complexity in recent years. Advances in computational power have increasingly enabled the use of machine learning (ML) to analyze and predict patterns from large-scale, complex biologic datasets. In nonhuman primate (NHP) infectious disease models, such high-dimensional datasets containing a large number of features are often obtained by next-generation sequencing-based multiomics and immunologic analyses. As a result, ML is particularly valuable for effective analysis and predictive mode

A review exploring the translational perspective of artificial intelligence in drug discovery and formulation development.

The drug development pipeline remains extraordinarily complex, costly, and time-intensive, typically requiring 10-15years and $2-3 billion per approved drug. This review presents a translational perspective on how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are renovating pharmaceutical R&D across the entire value chain while maintaining rigorous safety and efficacy standards. In drug discovery, deep learning platforms enable virtual screening of billion-compounds, reducing target identification from years to months while improving hit rates by 30-50%. Preclinical development benefi

Flood susceptibility assessment using three machine learning techniques and comparison of their performance.

One of the most common natural disasters is flooding, which has the potential to seriously harm environments and infrastructure. Flood susceptibility mapping (FSM) is the main way to manage flood risk. It measures how likely a region is to flood in a quantitative way. The purpose of this study was to develop state-of-the-art ensemble machine learning (ML) models for flood prediction and to identify the most suitable approach for accurate flood susceptibility mapping. This study leverages diverse datasets, including elevation, slope, aspect, plan curvature, topographic wetness index, stream pow

Interpretable multimodal deep learning for time-resolved survival prediction after hepatocellular carcinoma resection.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) exhibits substantial interpatient heterogeneity, leading to markedly variable outcomes and survival even among patients with similar stages and imaging phenotypes. Mainstream staging systems remain suboptimal, whereas pathology-dependent factors and high-cost genomic assays are neither scalable nor timely for clinical decision-making. Existing algorithms provide coarse risk stratification or static binary predictions, failing to capture the time-varying risk of death. We developed and externally validated TEMPO-HCC, a multimodal deep survival model with hierarchi

Tackling non-canonical splicing in arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy to reduce the uncertain significance variants burden.

BACKGROUND: Splice-altering variants (SAVs), particularly those outside canonical splice sites, are an underappreciated contributor to inherited cardiovascular diseases. In arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM), these variants frequently remain classified as of uncertain significance (VUS) due to limited predictive power and lack of transcript-level evidence, constraining genetic yield and clinical management. Our study aimed to determine the functional impact of SAVs in ACM genes and refine their classification using ACMG/AMP and ClinGen SVI criteria. METHODS: SAVs identified in 200 ACM proban

Development and validation of cell-free RNA-based predictive models for preeclampsia using placental single-cell transcriptomic data.

INTRODUCTION: Preeclampsia (PE) is a serious complication of pregnancy for which reliable early predictive biomarkers are currently lacking. Cell-free RNA (cfRNA) has emerged as a promising non-invasive approach that may enhance clinical management and facilitate earlier diagnosis. METHODS: To investigate PE, we applied single‑cell RNA sequencing (scRNA‑seq) to placental tissues, enabling the identification of differentially expressed genes. Integration of weighted gene co‑expression network analysis (WGCNA) with cfRNA profiles from PE patients revealed two gene modules that showed significan
