Re-implantation is the recommended therapeutic procedure following traumatic exarticulation of teeth though its long-term prognosis remains controversial. The purpose of the following study was to evaluate the periodontal healing of 33 reimplanted incisors lost after trauma. The sample, which included 24 upper and 9 lower incisors, was divided in two groups: 15 teeth were reimplanted within 1 hour (=Group A) and 21 teeth after 3 hours or more (=Group B). Thymomas is a rare disease. Staging systems and surgical adjuvant treatments remain controversial. We retrospectively reviewed the outcome and the prognostic factors in a series of 149 patients with non metastatic thymomas treated in ten French cancer centers between 1979 and 1990. Meconium ileus is the earliest clinical manifestation of cystic fibrosis. We report 22 neonates with meconium ileus who had clinical evidence of cystic fibrosis. During a 10 year period 58 patients with renovascular hypertension due to renal artery stenosis were treated surgically. A retrospective analysis of the results was carried out. No perioperative mortalities occurred. Ten percent of the patients developed hypertension again after an average of 27 months. At follow-up (median 65 months), 85% of the patients had normal blood pressure or either no, modest or considerably reduced anti-hypertensive medication. It is concluded that surgical treatment of renovascular hypertension is a safe and effective procedure.

We present the results of the third year of follow-up of a group of 100 patients wearing disposable contact lenses on an extended wear basis. The authors evaluate 213 consecutive breast cancer cases with positive fine-needle aspiration cytology. Cytologic smears were reviewed and classified according to a grading system. Reconstructive methods following pancreaticoduodenectomy in our department are discussed and evaluated in this study. Between January 1980 and November 1990 fifty-two consecutive patients underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy because of pancreas head disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the usefulness of the Widal test in the diagnosis of typhoid fever. Data were obtained by retrospective analysis of 311 Widal requests covering a six-year period. Nine cases of typhoid infection were diagnosed culturally. Of these, only three patients had samples for serological examination, all giving indicative titres.
