A new separation method of human erythrocyte membrane proteins by sodium dodecyl sulfate capillary gel electrophoresis (SDS-CGE) is described. In this method, a replaceable gel matrix was used. Seven major erythrocyte membrane proteins, alpha-and beta-spectrin, ankyrin 2.1, band 3 (anion-exchanger), 4.1a and b, and 4.2 (pallidin), were separated and identified by SDS-CGE method. Isolated cases of anti-phospholipid antibody (aPL)-associated idiopathic autoimmune haemolytic anemia (IAHA) have been recently described. For optimal solubilization of immunoreactive proteins of filarial parasites, adult worms of Acanthocheilonema viteae were extracted in different detergents including anionic, cationic, nonionic and zwitterionic agents under varying incubation periods. The status and kinetics of monocyte activation during acute P. knowlesi infection was investigated by latex-induced, luminol-dependent chemiluminescence (CL) response. Ocular aldehyde oxidase was purified for the first time from bovine ciliary body cytosol by ammonium sulfate fractionation and successive HPLC using DEAE anion-exchange and hydroxyapatite columns.
