Since the frequency of living-related and unrelated kidney donation has increased in the past decade, the risk of uninephrectomy should not be neglected. Major complications after kidney donation are rare. No serious problems like infection or bleeding are common with an overall perioperative complication rate of 14%. PURPOSE: To describe two cases in which the lacrimal gland was considered to extend downward under the bulbar conjuctiva following trabeculectomy.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: We report two patients who complained of epiphora after trabeculectomy. A biopsy was performed on the tissue under the bulbar conjunctiva on the periphery of the bleb of case 1. The anatomical relationship between the holes and the avascular filtering bleb in case 2 was investigated using ultrasound biomicroscopy.

The renal kallikrein-kinin system (KKS) was studied in pair-fed streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats and compared with age-matched controls. A captopril challenge test (CCT) for renovascular disease in adults was described recently. We used it in 20 consecutive, untreated hypertensive children and adolescents. All had a normal urinalysis and glomerular filtration rate and non-diagnostic renal sonograms or intravenous urograms.
