Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a sensorimotor disorder characterized by an urgent need to move the legs, due to the presence of a discomfort sensation in the lower limbs, especially at rest. Generally, it relieves with movement. There are several studies that argue the existence of an association between this syndrome and pregnancy. INTRODUCTION: Low Birth Weight (LBW) is a key determinant of neonatal mortality, morbidity, subsequent growth and development as well as early onset of adulthood diseases. It represents a conflation of two outcomes-preterm- and term 'light for date' (LFD) babies. This study looks at key auxologic, biochemical and clinical (ABC) parameters of a cohort of LBW babies, both preterm- and term in comparison to a group of normal-term (control) babies. An attempt was also made to see how these parameters were at the end of a 2 year follow-up period with the currently available interventions.

138 Indian patients with megaloblastic haemopoiesis were studied. All were lifelong vegetarians. The diagnosis was nutritional cobalamin deficiency in 95 and pernicious anaemia in 20; only 4 patients had folate deficiency. RATIONALE: Iron-deficiency anemia is commonly treated with intravenous (IV) iron supplementation; however, excessive use can lead to iron overload and subsequent organ damage. Iron isomaltoside, a newer IV iron formulation, may also contribute to iron overload, necessitating vigilant monitoring by clinicians. This report presents a case of iatrogenic iron overload induced by iron isomaltoside therapy.
