Authors present early results of Scorpio TS prosthesis in primary and revision total knee arthoplasty due to aseptic and septic loosening. 26 arthroplasties were performed on 25 patients. There were 19 women and 6 men of age from 37 to 80 (average 68.4 years). 11 patients from this group were operated because of septic loosening. The follow up from 2 to 22 months (average 11 months). OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect factors of knee function recovery after operation in distal femoral fractures.
METHODS: From January 2001 to May 2007, 92 cases of distal femoral fracture were treated. There were 50 males and 42 females, aged 20-77 years old (average 46.7 years old). Unicompartmental knee replacements have become increasingly popular with improved survivorship and clinical results. This has been combined with minimally invasive surgery to further improve patient recovery and rehabilitation. Despite improved instrumentation, it remains a technically demanding procedure. We present a previously unreported case of tibial nerve impingement as a consequence of posterior cement extrusion after a unicompartmental knee replacement.

This case report presents the conversion of a lateral unicompartmental arthroplasty (UKA) to an anterior cruciate retaining tricompartmental knee arthroplasty. Fifteen knees in patients suffering from symptomatic osteoarthritis secondary to chronically dislocated extensor mechanisms have been treated by knee replacement. Five knees had permanently dislocated patellae while 10 knees (four of which had undergone patellectomies) had dislocations of the extensor mechanisms with knee flexion. In fourteen instances satisfactory realignment of the extensor mechanism was obtained. In twelve knees, a substantial functional improvement was achieved. Two knees had persistent pain and one had unexpected tibio-femoral instability.

Our goal was to determine the 7-year survivorship of a total knee arthroplasty system with all-polyethylene tibial components. From June 1996 to December 1997, 129 consecutive patients (177 knees) (>/=70 years old) underwent such primary arthroplasty at 2 centers in the United States. The 4-year outcomes of a prospective study of patients undergoing Triathlon total knee arthroplasty (TKA) are presented. There were 2035 consecutive cemented TKAs performed on 1688 patients.
