Spontaneous rupture of the upper urinary tract is a rare and potentially serious pathology. Lithiasis is the most frequent cause. However, other causes are incriminated such as trauma, retroperitoneal fibrosis and especially stenosing tumors. Few cases of excretory tract rupture secondary to tumor obstruction have been reported in the literature. We report a case of spontaneous rupture of renal pelvis secondary to ureteral obstruction caused by urothelial tumor and discusses difficulties of diagnostic and treatment.

FDG-PET and MRI imaging of the pelvis identified a suspicious lesion in a patient with a history of small cell neuroendocrine tumour of the vagina, and after a negative surgical biopsy, a multidisciplinary team meeting decided to proceed with MRGB (magnetic resonance-guided biopsy). The patient remains well and in remission two years after anterior exenteration, with final histology of the lesion determined to be Skene gland adenocarcinoma. MRGB is a novel and effective way to diagnose vaginal lesions.

Genitourinary trauma secondary to a gunshot wound is uncommon as it only occurs in about 10% of cases. We present a case of a gentleman who suffered a gunshot wound to the pelvis. The bullet was originally extraluminal to the bladder; however, upon repeat CT scan eight days later, the bullet had migrated intra-luminally. We hope to show through this case that uncomplicated extraperitoneal injuries with an adjacent missile might benefit from early surgical exploration.

Wilms tumor commonly presents as an asymptomatic abdominal mass. In some cases, it can be accompanied with hypertension, constitutional symptoms, and hematuria when involving the collecting system. Below, we review the case of a child diagnosed with botryoid Wilms tumor involving the upper calyces and renal pelvis in which the presenting symptom was a concern for a foreign body in her left ear, and the only abnormality during initial history and physical examination was stage II hypertension.

Chondrosarcoma is a rare malignant bone tumor. It can arise de novo or secondary to a malignant transformation of a benign underlying cartilage tumor. Secondary chondrosarcoma arising from solitary benign osteochondroma is extremely rare and data show that the reported incidence of osteochondroma of the pelvis is very low. We here report the case of a 20-year old patient with chondrosarcoma secondary to malignant transformation of an osteochondroma of the right wing of ilium, adjacent to the sacroiliac joint.

Ureterocalicostomy is usually a salvage procedure for recurrent pelvi-ureteric junction (PUJ) stricture or upper ureteric injury. It requires meticulous dissection of the upper ureter, and lower pole nephrectomy is considered an essential step to achieve a wide funneled and dependent ureterocaliceal anastomosis. We, hereby, highlight the importance of guillotine lower pole nephrectomy through a case report of recurrent PUJ stricture managed with ureterocalicostomy that failed due to the omission of lower pole nephrectomy.

A 62-year-old man presented to our department with abdominal pain and diarrhea for 3 weeks on a background of previous branched endovascular repair for a thoracoabdominal aneurysm. A triple-phase computed tomography scan of his abdomen and pelvis showed a large aortocaval fistula caused by a type III endoleak from a dislodged superior mesenteric artery stent. He was successfully treated with a BeGraft (Bentley Innomed, Hechingen, Germany) by using an endovascular technique.

Blunt and penetrating trauma to the male pelvis and external genitalia may result in significant injury to the lower genitourinary system including the bladder, urethra, penis, and scrotum. Emergent imaging plays an important role in identifying these injuries and directing appropriate, timely management. In this article, we review indications for dedicated genitourinary system imaging in trauma and illustrate the imaging features of injuries to the lower male genitourinary system in order to facilitate accurate and rapid diagnosis.

Chondrosarcoma is most frequently present in the pelvis and long bones and rarely seen in the bones of the hand. Traditionally the treatment of choice for involvment of the hand is ray amputation, however this causes significant functional deficit if there is thumb involvement. There are limited cases in literature of resection of thumb chondrosarcoma with restoration of function. We present a case of high grade chondrosarcoma of the first metacarpal treated with resection and free fibular graft reconstruction. We report excellent functional outcome with this procedure.

Congenital absence of bilateral pubic bones is extremely uncommon. A 2-year-old boy presented with a history of intoeing at our outpatient clinic. The testes were found located at the inguinal canal on ultrasonography. A pelvic radiograph and a spiral computed tomography scan of the pelvis with three-dimensional reconstruction revealed the absence of both pubic bones. In conclusion, we report that the absence of the pubic bones, either as an isolated finding or associated with undescended testes, is peculiar.
