A case of intra-abdominal desmoid tumors in familial polyposis coli (FPC), which regressed and disappeared by prednisolone treatment, is reported. A 37-year-old Japanese man with abdominal lumps was admitted to our hospital. He had had proctocolectomy two years before because of FPC with rectal cancer. At laparotomy, tumors were present in the abdominal wall, mesentery, and retroperitoneum. Only a small part of the tumors was resected and diagnosed microscopically to be desmoid tumors. We analyzed a series of 202 renal adenocarcinomas, 164 of which were submitted to radical nephrectomy. Pathological analyses of 150 adrenal glands revealed ipsilateral adrenal metastasis in 4 cases, 3 of these coexisting with other distant metastases. A 57-year-old man with a ten-year history of polycythemia vera had myeloid metaplasia, extramedullary hematopoiesis, and terminally, possible leukemic transformation with intracranial granulocytic sarcoma. Radiation therapy produced a partial and temporary beneficial response. Intracranial granulocytic sarcoma is typically associated with acute or chronic myelogenous leukemia and has not been previously associated with postpolycythemia myeloid metaplasia.

Histological criteria such as high cellularity, typical and atypical mitosis, necrosis, infiltration of the underlying brain, poor differentiation, and distant metastasis define nonbenign meningiomas. Colony formation of JB-1-E tumor cells was studied after hyperthermic treatment (42.5 degrees C) at a pH of 6.4 or 7.2 under hypoxic and euoxic conditions. BACKGROUND: Despite high vaccination coverage among children, pertussis continues to pose a significant public health challenge in Morocco. Mortality primarily affects infants under 1 year of age. Although cases of mortality caused by pulmonary hypertension induced by Bordetella pertussis infection have been recorded previously, this complication continues to be relatively uncommon.
