Waste automobile tyres are suitable receptacles of rainwater thus capable of supporting the breeding of vector mosquito species in close proximity to humans and altering disease transmission risks. Bionomics of mosquitoes in carelessly discarded tyres was explored to unravel species composition and abundance, physicochemical parameters of microhabitats and epidemiological significance. In the Netherlands, most abortions of early pregnancies have been with electric vacuum aspiration (VA). A study was conducted on women's motivations for choosing surgical (VA) or medical abortion and extent of satisfaction with the method chosen. Information was also collected about the proportion of medical abortions to total abortions in the Netherlands and, for comparison, in some other European countries. Air pollution surveys of ten selected monoaromatic hydrocarbons (MAHCs) were conducted in buses and bus stations in Hangzhou, China. The mean concentrations of MAHCs in the air of buses and bus stations were 95.9 and 36.5 microg/m(3), respectively, of which toluene was the highest in all the sampling sites. Mean concentrations of all MAHCs in buses were statistically higher than those nearby bus stations (p<0.05). OBJECTIVE: To review our experience with hysteroscopic electroresection in the treatment of uterine benign lesions.
METHODS: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 775 cases of hysteroscopic surgery in view of the operation time, blood loss, complications and prognosis.

The effect of interfacial pentanol concentrations on solubilization of tetrachloroethylene (PCE) and gasoline by sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) micelles was compared to that for dodecane solubilization, which had been measured in a previous study.
