Eye inflammation, including dry eye disease, uveitis, and post-operative inflammation, is a major cause of visual impairment worldwide. Conventional ocular therapies are limited by anatomical barriers, rapid tear clearance, and poor tissue penetration, resulting in low drug bioavailability and inadequate therapeutic duration. Systemic administration and invasive injections further reduce patient compliance due to adverse effects and discomfort. Nanomedicine offers a promising strategy to overcome these limitations by enhancing ocular retention, improving targeted delivery, and reducing dosing …

Glaucoma is a leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide, caused by the gradual degeneration of retinal ganglion cells and their axons. While glaucoma is primarily considered a genetic and age-related disease, some inflammatory conditions, such as uveitis and viral-induced anterior segment inflammation, cause secondary or uveitic glaucoma. Viruses are predominant ocular pathogens and can impose both acute and chronic pathological insults to the human eye. Many viruses, including herpes simplex virus, varicella-zoster virus, cytomegalovirus, rubella virus, dengue virus, chikungunya virus…

PURPOSE: Exogenous endophthalmitis (ExE) results from microbial infection as a complication of ocular surgery, penetrating ocular trauma, and intraocular foreign bodies. We herein review the classification of ExE, etiological agents, differential diagnosis and therapeutic challenges.
METHODS: Narrative Literature Review.
RESULTS: Identification of the causative agent through ocular fluid analysis is central in the diagnostic work-up of ExE. Prompt intravitreal antimicrobial therapy is key to successful management of ExE and vitrectomy is essential in severe cases. In culture-negative cases,
