Low-Cost Dual-Dye Axillary Reverse Mapping in Locally Advanced Breast Cancer After Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy: A Phase I Feasibility and Arm-Related Quality of Life Outcomes Study.

BACKGROUND: Patients with locally advanced breast cancer (LABC) undergoing axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) face substantial risk of arm morbidity and lymphedema. Axillary reverse mapping (ARM) may preserve upper-limb lymphatic drainage; however, evidence in post-NACT LABC particularly from resource-constrained settings is limited. This phase I study evaluated the feasibility of a low-cost dual-dye ARM and its impact on arm-related quality of life using LYMPH-Q. METHODS: In this prospective study, 32 patients with LABC undergoing axillary surgery aft

Non-gene-edited, CD19-targeted, allogeneic CAR-T cell therapy for relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia: an open-label, single-arm phase 1 study.

Autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapy is effective in relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (R/R B-ALL), but its clinical application is restricted by manufacturing failures, high costs, and limited accessibility. Gene-edited allogeneic CAR-T cells offer an off-the-shelf alternative, yet concerns remain regarding genomic instability and graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). We conducted a phase 1 study to assess the safety and efficacy of ThisCAR-T, a non-gene-edited, CD19-directed allogeneic CAR-T cell product, in patients with R/R B-ALL. Eleven patients w

Efficacy and Complications of Bilateral Vim Lesioning and Bilateral Vim Deep Brain Stimulation for Essential Tremor: Parallel Single-Arm Meta-Analyses and an Exploratory Matched Indirect Comparison.

INTRODUCTION: Bilateral ventral intermediate nucleus (Vim) deep brain stimulation (DBS) is an established treatment for essential tremor, but infection, lead migration or fracture, and the need for battery replacement remain concerns. Bilateral Vim lesioning may offer an alternative, although comparative evidence is limited. We aimed to estimate efficacy and complication rates and to explore differences between modalities. METHODS: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis. MEDLINE, EMBASE, CENTRAL, <ext-link ext-link-type="uri" xlink:href="http://ClinicalTrials.gov" xmlns:xlink="htt

Context-aware digital nutrition and abdominal acoustic feedback in Taiwanese university students: a 12-week single-arm field intervention and a separate 4-week randomized feasibility pilot.

BACKGROUND: Most digital nutrition tools rely on retrospective meal logging and generic reminders. AbSound adds abdominal acoustic cues intended to support meal-timing reflection and dietary self-regulation. These cues were treated as meal-relevant behavioral proxies, not physiological markers of hunger, satiety, or gastrointestinal motility. We evaluated the platform among Taiwanese university students. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Phase 1 was a 12-week single-arm field intervention with 200 participants completing follow-up. Outcomes included engagement, meal-logging completeness, fruit and veget

Neoadjuvant QL1706 plus chemotherapy in patients with stage II-IIIB squamous non-small cell lung cancer: study protocol for a prospective, single-arm, multicentre phase II trial.

INTRODUCTION: Lung squamous cell carcinoma is a subtype of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and its biological characteristics or treatment responses might differ from non-squamous NSCLC. Although neoadjuvant immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy has become the guideline-recommended treatment for resectable NSCLC, clinical benefits remain suboptimal as a substantial proportion of patients fail to achieve pathological complete response (pCR). Hence, we conduct a clinical study on QL1706 combined with chemotherapy for the neoadjuvant treatment of squamous NSCLC. METHODS: This is a phase II

Total neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy plus anti PD-1 for mid-to-low locally advanced rectal cancer: study protocol of a prospective, single arm, phase II study (STARS - RC06).

BACKGROUND: Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy has become the standard treatment for mid-to-low location LARC. Recently, total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) has been used in patients with 'high-risk' or 'very high-risk' LARC according to ESMO guideline (2017). TNT not only increases the pathological complete response (pCR) rate, but also provides patients with more opportunities to preserve organ function. However, TNT mode seems to have reached a plateau. Some clinical studies published in recent years have also confirmed that different modes of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy combined with ICIs can fur

Supporting primary care clinicians in caring for patients with alcohol use disorder: study protocol for Records for Alcohol Care Enhancement (RACE), a factorial four-arm randomized trial.

BACKGROUND: Unhealthy alcohol use, a spectrum of use inclusive of risky consumption and alcohol use disorder (AUD), is a leading cause of preventable death in the United States. Most people with unhealthy alcohol use do not receive evidence-based treatment. This four-arm factorial design randomized trial will assess whether population health management (PHM) and clinical care management (CCM) support for primary care providers (PCPs) are associated with improved AUD treatment engagement among their patients, beyond electronic health record (EHR) prompting and decision support alone. METHODS:

Evaluation of a Low-threshold Exercise And Protein supplementation intervention for Women (LEAP-W) experiencing homelessness and addiction: Protocol for a single-arm mixed methods feasibility study.

BACKGROUND: Frailty is a complex multi-dimensional state of increased vulnerability to adverse outcomes and is associated with older age but there is growing evidence of accelerated ageing and frailty in non-geriatric populations, including those experiencing socio-economic deprivation and extreme social exclusion, such as people experiencing homelessness. Addiction, as a coping mechanism for prior trauma, is common among people who are homeless and can have a gendered dimension. Women experiencing homelessness and addiction have unique needs which require a gendered approach. The aim of this

Prognosis of radical prostatectomy combined with pelvic lymph node dissection in patients with intermediate- and high-risk prostate cancer: a systematic review and single-arm meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: The efficacy of pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND) in enhancing the prognosis of patients with intermediate- and high-risk prostate cancer (PCa) has been a subject of ongoing debate. It is noteworthy that a majority of existing studies on this topic are retrospective and have shorter follow-up durations. This meta-analysis is therefore purposed to assess the prognosis of intermediate to high-risk PCa patients who have undergone a combination of radical prostatectomy (RP) and PLND. METHODS: This study systematically searched multiple databases, including but not limited to PubMed

Ultrasound-Guided Costoclavicular Brachial Plexus Block Using 0.5% Levobupivacaine Alone or With Dexamethasone as an Adjuvant for Upper Arm Surgical Anesthesia and Postoperative Analgesia: A Randomized Study.

BACKGROUND: Regional anesthesia techniques, such as brachial plexus blocks, are widely used for upper limb surgeries. The costoclavicular approach is a relatively new technique that targets the brachial plexus cords in a compact arrangement. Adjuvants like dexamethasone have been shown to enhance the efficacy of local anesthetics in various regional blocks, but studies regarding their effect in costoclavicular brachial plexus block (CCB) with levobupivacaine are limited. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study is to compare the efficacy of 0.5% levobupivacaine alone versus 0.5% levobupivacaine
