Anti-ulcer activities of xyloccensin-E and xyloccensin-I were investigated in various ulcer models in Sprague-Dawley rats. The effects and the mechanism of action of both compounds for anti-secretory and cytoprotective activities were also studied. Maternal epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is rare. EOC is reported to occur in 1:12,000 to 1:50,000 pregnancies. We report a case of Stage IA epithelial ovarian cancer detected in the first trimester managed by laparotomy at 13 weeks followed by left sided salpingo-oophorectomy and infra-colic omentectomy. Histopathology revealed papillary mucinous cystadenocarcinoma (well differentiated with negative peritoneal cytology for malignancy). Fifty-one breast lumps were studied by fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) and scrape imprint cytology. Of the 51 cases, 28 were malignant and included infiltrating duct carcinoma (22), well differentiated adenocarcinoma (2), mucinous, papillary and lobular carcinoma (one each) and malignant lymphoma (one). Lichen myxoedematosus is an unusual disorder of unknown etiology and pathogenesis. Although several treatments have reportedly been tried, therapeutic efficacies are variable and unsatisfactory. Lichen myxoedematosus (LM), or papular mucinosis, is an uncommon papular eruption caused by the dermal deposition of mucin.
