Perilunate dislocations are rare injuries of the wrist and complete dislocation of the lunate is also rare. There is controversy in literature regarding the optimal management of such injuries. BACKGROUND: Osteonecrosis of the femoral head is the most dreaded complication associated with an unstable slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE). We hypothesize that the hip joint pressure will be increased in unstable slips, confirming that emergent treatment and decompression are warranted.
METHODS: Thirteen unstable SCFE hips were evaluated. Hip pressure monitoring was performed. Postcapsulotomy measurements were also performed in all of the patients. Five of these under gentle manipulation. Six patients underwent measurement of the hip pressure on the unaffected side.

Traumatic dislocation of the hip in children is a rare injury. We report the outcome of open reduction of neglected traumatic posterior hip dislocation in 18 children. All patients had posterior dislocation and no associated fracture. Twenty-eight patients with sequelae of proximal humeral fractures were treated with shoulder arthroplasty and were reviewed with a mean follow-up of 47 months. There were 8 malunions, 7 osteonecrosis, and 2 nonunions of the proximal humerus. Degenerative joint disease without any distortion of the tuberosities had developed in 11. A retrospective study of 15 patients with 16 knees who underwent osteochondral autografts for focal full thickness articular cartilage defects of the knee with 2- to 4-year follow-up showed 80% good or excellent clinical results.
