Data on the specific bone deficits and microarchitectural alterations in children with DMD were limited. OBJECTIVES: To quantify and evaluate risks of complications attributable to external skeletal fixator (ESF) usage in dogs.
METHODS: A retrospective review of medical records following ESF placement.

Falls in urban setting are a common cause for emergency room visits in children and adolescents. In a retrospective review, the charts of 48 patients admitted between 1980 and 1985 with a history of a vertical fall from a height were examined. Midazolam is commonly used for sedation during procedures because of its relative safety and predictability. Still, some rare undesirable medication reactions have been described. We report a case in which midazolam given before a peripheral nerve block caused acute onset dyskinetic extrapyramidal symptoms. These symptoms ultimately resolved following reversal of the midazolam with flumazenil. Given the widespread and multidisciplinary use of midazolam, practitioners should be aware of the potential for rare adverse reactions and be prepared to manage these scenarios.

Paediatric Monteggia-type injuries are complicated by treatment failure and posterior interosseous nerve palsy, without reliable predictive indicators. PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to observe if the re-fracture rate after forearm both bones was decreased by protecting the forearm with a preventive brace for 6 months following the fracture and by ceasing all physical activities.
