OBJECTIVE: This study conduct a qualitative synthesis and quantitative meta-analysis of VFAFI, aimed to study whether it is a useful treatment for UVCP.
METHOD: Electronic databases PubMed, YZ365. COM, WANFANG DATA, CMJD, CHKD,CNKI were searched using relevant keywords. Reported treatment outcomes were clustered into three categories,i. e. subjective, perceptual,acoustic,aerodynamic,and stroboscopic. Meta-analyses were performed on studies with numerical results using random effects model.

Extraskeletal para-articular osteochondromas of the infrapatellar fat pad are unique soft-tissue tumors whose etiology and clinical history remain poorly understood. We report three cases and a systematic review of the literature. Three females, aged 47, 54, and 70 years, presented with pain and a parapatellar knee mass. BACKGROUND: Autologous fat grafting to the velopharynx has been described for treatment of velopharyngeal insufficiency for over a decade. The aim of this review was to evaluate outcomes of autologous fat grafting for velopharyngeal insufficiency.
METHODS: A computerized search was performed across multiple databases. Studies involving patients undergoing autologous fat grafting for velopharyngeal insufficiency treatment that reported at least one pre- and post-intervention outcome measure were included.
RESULTS: A systematic search revealed eleven studies that satisfied inclusion criteria.

OBJECTIVES: Hyperinsulinemia is often associated with a cluster of metabolic abnormalities, which usually presents before the onset of frank diabetes. Lipodystrophy syndromes are frequently associated with hyperinsulinemia and may act as models for insulin resistance. Lipodystrophy is characterized in broad terms by loss of subcutaneous adipose tissue. Despite heterogeneous causes, which include both genetic and acquired forms, lipodystrophy syndromes have similar metabolic attributes, including insulin resistance, hyperlipidemia and diabetes.

PURPOSE: This article reviews the lipofilling technique using a fat tissue suspension obtained by manual or vacuum machine-assisted suction.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Between 1989 and 1997 14 patients were treated by lipofilling. All patients were female; 6 were treated for cheek and zygomatic area augmentation for Romberg syndrome (2 cases) and bilateral facial lipodystrophy (4 cases); 4 were treated for nasolabial fold correction, 3 for lip augmentation, and 1 for correction of systemic lupus erythematosus (LES) scars.

This study assesses body composition changes and their time course during the initial days of acclimatization to high altitude (HA).
