Effects of Intravitreal Methotrexate Injection on Choroidal Structure in Intraocular Malignant Lymphoma and Identification of Prognostic Factors for Central Nervous System Lymphoma Development.

Background: Vitreoretinal lymphoma (VRL) often presents with features resembling uveitis and is commonly associated with central nervous system lymphoma (CNSL). Intravitreal methotrexate (IVMTX) is widely used as local therapy; however, objective markers for treatment response and prognosis remain limited. This study investigated choroidal structural changes after IVMTX via enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) and explored prognostic indicators for subsequent CNSL development. Methods: This retrospective study included 18 patients (27 eyes) with VRL treated with IVMTX

Optic disc parameters and choroidal vascular index as potential risk indicators in non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy: a retrospective study.

BACKGROUND: Although previous research has explored the involvement of the choroid in the pathogenesis of non- arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION), the relationship between optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) findings and choroidal features remains unclear. An understanding of this relationship may help clarify the vascular mechanisms underlying this disease. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationships between OCTA and choroidal parameters in patients with NAION during the post-acute phase, after the resolution of optic disc oedema. METHODS: This r

Effects of small incision lenticule extraction and femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis on choroidal thickness and blood flow density in patients with myopia.

Corneal refractive surgery is often used to correct myopia, and after surgery attention is often focused on changes in vision and corneal response. However, studies on the posterior segment of the eye remain relatively scarce. The present study aimed to observe changes in choroidal thickness and blood flow density after small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) and femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (FS-LASIK) using optical coherence tomography. Changes in spherical equivalent (SE), axial length (AL), choroidal thickness and choriocapillaris blood flow density were recorded be

[Early changes in choroidal thickness and axial length in the use glasses of monofocal lenses and highly aspherical lenslets in children with newly diagnosed myopia].

UNLABELLED: Current strategies for treating progressive myopia are closely linked to optical methods based on the theory of peripheral defocus. Myopic defocus causes an increase in choroidal thickness (CT) and a decrease in axial length (AL) of the eye. No comparative studies on the effects of spectacle lenses with highly aspherical lenslets (HAL) and monofocal lenses (MFL) on CT and AL in children with newly diagnosed myopia have been conducted. PURPOSE: This study compares changes in CT and AL in children with myopia after one month of continuous wear of newly prescribed glasses with HAL an

Effects of computer-generated patterns with different temporal and spatial frequencies on choroidal thickness, retinal dopamine and candidate genes in chickens wearing lenses.

PURPOSE: Changes in choroidal thickness (ChT) are proposed to predict myopia development but evidence is mixed. We investigated time courses of choroidal responses, following different types of dynamic artificial stimulation in chicks with and without spectacle lenses, as well as changes in retinal dopamine metabolism and expression of candidate genes. METHODS: Chicks were kept in an arena surrounded by computer monitors presenting dynamic checkerboard fields of small, medium and large size. Fields were displayed with different cycle frequencies, as ON (rapid rise, slow decay) or OFF (slow ri
